North End Pairs Comp...1 under 17 and one 17 and over pair up in a team knock out event...A beach clean up will be held to get the Spit back to it's glory days...Teams chosen from a hat...HEAPS OF PRIZES...Wear club colours...TV and Paper will be covering the comp...Invite family & friends...Only financial members can surf...Free feed to everybody who helps out

North End pro surfers
Congrats to Damon STAMOS Nichols winning his first heat at the Breaka burleigh pro this morning to move into round 2.
Following in the very next heat Josh PINNY Dowthwaite won as well and this sees him into round 3(round of 128)...Awesome surfing boys
Unfortunately for Heath Walker yesterday, a lack of decent waves saw him being knocked out.
Chris IBIS Bennetts hits the water later today in Heat 13 of the round of 160
Damon will be back in action in heat 15 straight after him.
DAY 2
Ibis put in a superb effort to take a win and advance to round 3(128).
Unfortunately for Damon he narrowly missed out advancing into round 3(128).
The big news so far though is Pinny making it into round 4(round of 96) with a 2nd place in his round 3 heat, knocking out a couple of international surfers along the way.
This morning Ibis will surf his round 3 heat against "Occy" among others.Heat 13 of round 3(6th heat of today).

2010 News
2010 kicks off this weekend with everyone to be down at Narrowneck before 6.30am. If you haven't already signed up for the year, please be earlier so we can kick off at 7 at the latest.
YOU MUST BE A PAID UP MEMBER FOR 2010 TO SURF...NO EXCEPTIONS
There is a tasty bit of swell due so don't miss out........
The Annual General Meeting was held last Thursday night...Thanks to those that turned up.
The main thing that was done was the election of this years committee which is as follows...
President... Brett Evans
Secretary... Mark Williams (Patch)
Treasurer...David McGrath (Squiddy)
Contest Director... Mat McGrath
Social Director... Teresa Taylor
Head Judges...Phil Wheeler & Nigel Hyland
Junior Coordinator/Trainer... Chris Bennetts (Ibis)
Committee Member... Greg Craig
Another item that has been changed is surfing in extra divisions.... Last year, if you made a final then you could surf in extra divisions....This year, due to numbers, you need to win your division to be eligible for the next division...eg win junior round, then you can surf in opens for the rest of the year as well as juniors....
Lastly Good Luck to all the NEB members in this weeks Breaka Pro at Burleigh...

Thats 2 firsts and 6 seconds putting NEB in with heaps of teams on a countback... Unfortunately the way countbacks are done put us down in 11th spot... Not really justice for the amazing effort.
North End were one of only three teams to not get a third or fourth place but countbacks are done on first placings to begin with. Straddie Assault here we come!!!!!!
